The best kids' movies of 2022, listed here in order of release date, are set to stun you with their animation, thrill you with their grand adventures, make you dance to their original songs and, of course, laugh at all their silly jokes. Or, if you're a family that values the cinematic experience, 2022 looks like it'll be even better than 2021 when it comes to the number of movies hitting theaters. The proliferation of streaming services like Netflix, Peacock, Disney+, Paramount+, Apple TV+ and HBO Max means there are plenty of studios out clamoring for new and interesting films to entertain families - and streaming them at home means they're even easier to watch. They just get funnier and you do catch plenty of star wars references in them. It's never been a better time to be a family that loves new kids' movies. I do however recommend watching the rest of the despicable me movies. ![]() ![]() They did make more than one but they aren't as great. I got burnt out on it cause he watched it a lot but it is pretty good. My little brother loved cars when he was a toddler. Goosebumps was alright, not really something I'd watch again but I know others liked it. Chicken little was pretty cute and funny. The new jungle book and beauty and the beast were good too. ![]() All of the kung fu panda movies have been good. Hotel Transylvania was awesome, there's two of those. Finding dory was adorable, I really enjoyed that. I surprisingly liked the angry birds movie, I thought it was going to be really dumb but it ended up being really funny. Secret life of pets was silly and cute, I really liked that one. I loved big hero 6, it's one of my favorites aside from mulan and brave. Moana is good and you should totally watch big hero 6. If you want some animated films targeted for adults, there are a few very good ones, just ask if you're interested Otherwise last year was pretty good with Zootopia that you've seen, foreign competitors are often dismissed for the Oscar and there was no way it would lose but the contenders were really strong to be fair : The Red Turtle and My Life as a Zucchini are both interesting. Other beautiful works from Japan include Tales of Princess Kaguya and Your Name if you want to see different but extremely well done styles of animation. Miyasaki is the main one, his whole cinematography is a bit older than your timeframe but you might have missed them - I'd advice beginning with Mononoke Hime and Spirited Away both very rich visually. The Corpse Bride is also interesting but only watch it if you liked Nightmare Before Christmas from your generation otherwise don't bother.įoreign cinema also has some strong pieces. Most original and unexpected in recent years is probably The LEGO movie (I know it sounds weird but trust me on that one it's a blast). Up is almost at the same level, as a grown up you'll definitely connect with the first part of the story although it's less strong later. ![]() Pixar during the year 2000's is full of masterpieces : Ratatouille, The Incredibles are just as good as Wall-E. Since Toy Story is within your time frame you should consider the sequels Toy Story 2 and 3 which are really good.
